Our Wedding | From Miss to Mrs.

Wednesday, September 04, 2013

As I've previously mentioned, I was a ball of nerves hours before we wed.  I can't explain why, but I was just so anxious.  The nerves were put on pause as we traveled to the church; I was with my bridesmaids, flower girls, and parents, and was put at ease being surrounded by their love and excitement.  However, they came back full swing when we arrived at St. Vitus 20 minutes before we had anticipated and were almost seen by tons of guests walking in as well as almost seen by Nick & his groomsmen.  Not a way to keep a frantic bride calm, let me tell ya...

...The woman helping to choreograph the ceremony escorted the girls into the vestibule where they were to wait until it began.  I followed with my father after and was practically hyperventilating as the seconds ticked away.  The thing about my dad is that he's a pretty subdued guy.  This whole first daughter getting married thing was very emotional for him and my mom, but knowing how out of sorts I was he was able to come to my rescue with quirky jokes and silly banter.  I will love and appreciate him forever for this; I don't know if I would've been able to handle myself otherwise.  I then asked, "so how far along are they into the bridesmaids?" assuming one or two had gone down.  My dad replied, "Bella (my MOH) is up next."

Next thing I know we were behind closed doors awaiting the grand entrance.  Someone either came in late or exited for a brief moment, because all of a sudden one of the doors was open and there was Nick at the end of the aisle.  The "choreographer" quickly covered up this mistake by opening both doors and escorting my dad and I into the church and tears of joy just began to stream down my face.  I can't wait to see the video because in the moment I was lost; full of excitement and overcome with joy.  I missed everyone's reactions; I missed my Uncle's beautiful trumpet solo, and I missed the walk.  Just like that, my daddy was giving me away.

Below are pictures of the ceremony captured by Blythe at Blythe K Photography.  Enjoy :)

Apparently RJ raced down the aisle; can't wait to relive this in the video!
