My Life: Keeping Busy During Irene

We're expecting hurricane Irene to bring us some heavy rains and winds; however, we have been fortunate enough to not have to be concerned about evacuating our home.  We did gain a couple visitors for the weekend (my dog and sister) so that they could be a little safer and a little less anxious as Irene travels through.  With rain already coming down, and with the roads all blocked up, we're limited to what we can do to keep ourselves busy.  Although working on school work has passed some of our time, we decided to bake some chocolate chip cookies.  This is now the second bakery item made in our new kitchen and I'd say they turned out just as good as the biscotti =)

We used the Nestle recipe and chose to use dark chocolate chips instead of milk chocolate.  Nuts can be added as a variation, and for an extra kick, add 1/2 tsp. cinnamon!  Enjoy!
