School is almost here!

Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm a little behind the times for all of you midwestern/southern/western bloggers, but over here we like to wait for the very last possible moment to get school started.   Aka, the day after Labor Day.  There's actually a law in place that prevents schools from opening!!  So when all you lucky ducks are out basking in the sun in May, we'll still be hard at work clear through mid-June...

But I digress, the reason for this post was not to rant about a late opening (pros: I can still enjoy the pool, sleep in "late," and wear pjs all day if I want to), but rather to show that I have a crafty bone in my body.

While Nick was hard at work on the cornhole boards (if this is news to you, you should really consider following on instagram!), I decided to get artsy and threw this modge podge together (get it, modge podge?!):

It's not much, but I made it all by myself.  No pinterest, no friends, no nothing (hence why it looks like a 5-year-old threw it together), but I'm pleased :)  It's the perfect little pop of color on my bookshelf & looks great accompanied with my dollar tree floral arrangement...  

Unfortunately since the picture was taken, more modge and podge as accumulated on said shelf thus signifying the work load has begun.  Oh the life of a teacher!

To all my special blogger/teacher ladies (and gents) out there, I hope you have a great school year.  I expect to hear your stories so that I may feel better about myself marvel in your triumphs and exciting memory-making with you!

To everyone else without a teaching job, the summers make everything totally worth it.  ;)

3. If you got a free plane ticket where would you go? Hawaii!  I'd use it next summer for our Honeymoon :) then use our $$ we saved for the ticket to go ALL OUT!

4. What are you most proud of? this is tough... for now I suppose graduating from college & maintaining a full-time job ever since I graduated!  this economy is rough & I'm very appreciative of my job/life.  

5. How many children do you want? maybe 2?  I'd love more, but financially 2 is best for us :) 

6. What is your favorite outfit? does pjs count??  No really - I love a good pair of yogas + a tshirt.  Orrrrrrr a cotton dress.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy.  

8. What do you like to do in your spare time?  nap...  ;)

11. Favorite Cocktail?  vodka + water w/ lemon, please!  (or wine mmmm)
