no plans.
no one to visit.
no one coming by.
nothing on the to-do list (
and we loved it.
All too often we all get caught up in life, action, work, hobbies, etc., and don't have time to just veg out for a little. This weekend, we were able to have another little stay-cation... something that I don't anticipate being able to have forever and appreciate more and more as they become less and less frequent.
Of course we can't avoid all the nuances of day-to-day life (i.e. cleaning, grocery shopping, cooking, and work), but it is nice to sit on the couch and having nothing better than enjoying two cups of coffee over watching "Elf" for a couple hours.
It's also nice to have to complete these daily tasks in a more peaceful/laid back environment.
cue 10pm Wegmans grocery runs.
and mid-afternoon crafting on a Saturday.
and early Sunday tutoring sessions.
all of which required no hustle + bustle, no fighting to get to where you need to be, and no accommodating to strangers as you pass by.
they also allowed for silly discoveries to be made:
According to Jenn, this is a lot like a bread or rice pudding... who knew!? I had never seen/heard of such a thing, but it was easily noticed with empty aisles around 10pm on a Saturday night.
You also have time to binge out on home cooked meals:
[recipe tomorrow.... easy. as. pie. no, but easier, b/c pie can be difficult sometimes]
And catch up on some reading:
So yes, a great weekend was had by all, yet again.
We won't have one quite as eventless until after the New Year, so I especially appreciate how careless this one allowed me to be :)
Linking up with Sami for the Weekend Update.
pssssst: I'm giving away a little somn' somn' on Niki's blog, Glossy Blonde! Why wouldn't you enter - especially with the holidays right around the corner [hint, hint]!

I totally should've stayed home all day yesterday and basked in that opportunity, but I chose to go out and finish my Christmas shopping instead. Every weekend from here on out is booked!

I love the days with "no plans". Especially when they involve yummy home cooked meals.
Bahaha - I laughed out loud when I saw Spotted Dick! I've never seen that before LMFAO!
Spotted Dick?! WOW!
I can't decide if Target, Sephora, or Starbucks would be the most exciting?!
