SPD | Argyle Valentine's Day Wreath

Thursday, January 31, 2013

Hello Love Muffins,
it's THURSDAY and this time last week I was lazing around prepping for my 4-and-a-half-day weekend (boy was that fan-flippen-tastic!), and while I had uber amounts of time on my hands, I decided what better way to spend the weekend then to do a couple Valentine's day crafts?!

So I did & they turned out adorably...
Win :)

But I didn't take a ton of pictures...
Fail :(

Among the crafts I made was an argyle Valentine's day wreath that helps to both spruce up your home & work on that arm flab (I'll explain that in a bit).

Cue le pin* from this creative woman:

And here are a few pictures I did manage to take of my final product:

Of course I followed her step-by-step tutorial to a tee, and rather than reinvent the wheel I suggest you go check her out stat to get to making yours!

Now about that arm flab thing...  I have to say, get your arms ready to take a beating.  I kid you NOT wrapping that darn yarn around my styrofoam ring took 2 hours.  My arm felt like it was going to fall off, but the wreath turned out pretty (I think?) so it made it worth it :)  I suggest getting a group of girls together and/or a nice long movie to keep you occupied while you wrap.  You could also rap while you wrap, but that's your call.

I've also seen others making their own versions of the wreath, so know if they can do it, and I can do it, so can you!!

Linking up with Steph & Katie for their "Saw it, Pinned it, Did it" link-up!

*please note: the original pin linked back to an Etsy shop that no longer carries this item

I am the least crafty person alive. I love this wreath though. I may attempt it with diamonds instead of hearts since I have a standard heart wreath!

I feel you on the time it took to wrap the yarn around the ring. I do a similar project and by similar I mean using yarn to wrap around an object, with my sixth graders and it takes about two hours. I remember thinking I was crazy the first time I did it.
