February 9, 2012.

This date may not mean much to you, but on this date, my best friend dropped down to one knee and asked me to marry him.  On this date, my life changed forever.  On this date, I knew I would eventually commit to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams.

{Left: Now | Right: Then}

Fast forward one year to February 9, 2013...  Wedding plans are almost finalized, things have been purchased, invites are being addressed, and details are coming together nicely.  This past year has been more than I could've expected, and without sounding too cheesy, I CANNOT wait until we get to July so I can officially become Nick's Mrs.  We had a great weekend celebrating/reminiscing the past few years of our relationship, and eagerly anticipate the big day.

Here's how we spent the weekend:

{clockwise from the top left}
1.  my potential wedding shoes came in the mail from the Kate Spade flash clearance sale just in time for my end-of-the-month anticipated arrival of my gown (eeek!  I'm SO excited)  It's details like this that make July become more real with each passing day!
2.  I gave myself a DIY gel manicure with a little heart accent since I was in such a loving-all-things-love mood {inspired by Miss Shenanigans}
3.  I got myself a pair of the most comfortable flats there ever were... and am not ashamed to say they're Crocs, nor am I ashamed to say I might go back and get a pair of boat shoes that they were just putting on display.  They were adorable.
4.  I received a beautiful Pandora bead with a little engagement ring on it from Nick as an early Valentine's Day/engagementaversary gift - Am I spoiled?  Lots.  :)

1.  More toilet shots as I got dressed up to accompany a handsome fiance out to dinner
2.  Cheers to another year - and many many more to come
3.  Delicious dinner and leftovers the day after...  doesn't my piece of chicken vaguely resemble a heart, or is it just me?!
4.  Dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Firebirds {we got VERY lucky and jumped an hour-and-a-half wait somehow ending up with a table in under 10 mins.!}

Celebrating with a bottle of vino, candles, a camp-out in the living room, & Diney Pixar's Brave playing in the background...  Just they way I love it!

Nick & I lounging around - isn't he just the cutest?!
Especially now that he owns a pair of RayBans, too?  So.  Good.  Looking.
I think it's safe to say the couple that shades together stays together.
{my treat to him for taking such good care of me}

So yes, relaxing & exciting.
We have 159 days to go
Fittings to get to
Showers to attend
People to see
and a lifetime to spend,
And I couldn't imagine anyone I'd rather be doing it with.

Hope your weekend was just as nice!

Hi! I just found your blog from Bourbon & Glitter...and I clicked on your link because you're a Steelers fan!!!! My parents are from Pittsburgh and I grew up to be a giant fan! In fact, I met my fiance at a Steelers bar when we lived in DC!

Anyway, we have two things in common: Steelers and wedding planning. I'm pretty sure this means we're blogger friends ;)

Congratulations! Just a bit longer!!! I just love your photos of before and now - what a difference of one year of being engagement has done to both of you. I also love the toilet photo, so cute!
